It is the purpose of the Acupuncture Clinic of Richmond to honor the gift of health for all individuals by providing an effective, quality system of health care. Patient care includes a holistic or whole body approach through the application of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles and modern health, nutritional, and lifestyle counseling practices.
Deborah Farley, founder of the Acupuncture Clinic of Richmond, is a Nationally Board Certified Diplomat in Acupuncture certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and the past-president of the Acupuncture Society of Virginia (ASVA). She is a graduate of the East West College of Natural Medicine with a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine and holds licensure in Florida as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine(DOM). Deborah holds membership in the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM), and is a Certified National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) Practitioner. Deborah is also a Certified Holistic Health Coach, certified by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. Deborah’s passion and extensive training in integrative healing therapies reflects her belief in the innate healing power of the human body, mind and spirit.
What is Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)?
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a system of medicine that has been around for over 3,000 years. This noninvasive medical system uses acupuncture, diet, lifestyle modifications, physical exercise, exercise, Feng Shui (the balancing of your surroundings), Tui’na (massage) and herbs to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities.
What is Holistic Health Coaching?
A Holistic Health Coach is a nutrition coach, wellness expert, and source of support for individuals who are ready to take an active role in their overall health and wellbeing. This approach takes into consideration not only the foods we eat, but how satisfied we are in other areas of our life such as career, personal relationships, and finding physical activity that we enjoy. People who choose to work with health coaches have been shown to have a higher rate of success in achieving their health goals - especially in areas such as weight management, food cravings, sleep, energy, and stress management. Deborah offers individual and group programs and often integrates her programs with the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
